Hello Again!
Happy Holidays! These winter months in the Midwest are breezy, chilly and frosty! What a perfect setting for a wedding!
The winter climate can inspire a wonderful theme for a wedding ceremony and reception. Think of the landscape outside your window and you can bring those colors, or lack of colors, indoors to create a truly memorable event. Crystal icicles, silver-tinged snowflakes and electric-blue skies are some of the first combinations that pop into my mind. I think that it is charming to include some wildlife references in this combination. You may think, "Wildlife at a ceremony or reception?" but please remember that one of the most charming trends in today's weddings is the trend to make your event personal and unique. When I refer to wildlife, I am actually talking about non-living creatures, such as stuffed birds or pictures of animals. However, I have heard of brides and grooms who prefer to have their beloved pooch as their best man or ring-bearer! Just make certain beforehand that this idea is acceptable by your officiant and at the locations where Fido will attend.
Some of the most traditional and lovely wedding receptions that we have hosted here at the Rock Island Arsenal Club include the traditional Christmas decorations so popular in December. Sometimes the brides and grooms choose to have us keep our Christmas decorations in our rooms and they simply add to what is already there. A lovely-and budget-wise-decision!
Whatever your decision in decorations for your winter wedding, I hope that you capture the magic of this season, for it truly only comes once a year!
Until next month -
